I did a Style Snatch on one of my all time favorite Fashionistas today…..none other than Style Maven, Solange Knowles! There are so many reasons why I love Solange’s style. After breaking free from her former title as “Beyonce’s Little Sister”, she has taken her place in the Fashion Industry as one of Style’s forces to reckoned with. If I had to describe what type of style I think Solange has, I’d have to call it “Tribal Chic”. Every time I see her, she has on some sort of complex, Geo/Tribal pattern….and I love it! Solange has also chosen to embrace her natural hair, which is something I’m proud to see a lot of other sistas doing these days…believe me, it’s not easy. It took me 4 years to grow out my perm

The style I chose for my snatch today is quite simple and finding the pieces didn’t take much time at all. The combination pairs a peter pan collared top with high waisted shorts. An animal print clutch gives it some pop and platform, lace-up booties top it all off.

I was combing the internet today and came across a look I’m in love with that was worn by Olivia Palermo at the opening of Faberge’s New York flagship store recently. Olivia looked beyond chic in her tuxedo jacket, complete with black shorts, striped top and $945 Manolo Blahnik satin pumps (not kidding on the price). Did I neglect to mention that the Faberge necklace she wore was a 35.06 carat diamond necklace?

One of my favorite things to do is to find celebrity styles that I’d like to try out on my own, but not at the huge expenses that celebrities pay. I literally spend hours on end at times looking for comparable, and affordable pieces to match a look I’m in love with. Since all of us don’t have the cash flow to afford designer duds, I thought I’d take Oliva’s look and throw together a look of my own using pieces that are attainable. Here is Olivia’s look:
