Style Snatchin: Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP)

Posted on April 11, 2013 by Johnnalynn Lynch in Fashion Tips, Home, Look of the Day, Shopping, Style Snatchin, Trends No Comments

Hey Afaconados!

I can’t tell you how many looks I wanna snatch from today’s highlight Sarah Jessica Parker (pretty much all of them), but when I saw this one I just HAD to see if I could re-create it. Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the FEW celebrities I try to model my personal style after. She is, to me, the ultimate Fashionista.

For today’s look, Sarah is wearing a sheer, collarless polka dot shirt covered by a collarless blazer, cropped white pants and black pumps. The flourish for this look consists of two oversized floral brooches. Magnifique!

I want to apologize upfront for not providing a collarless polka dot shirt in my set. I literally comb the internet when I’m looking for comparable pieces for my snatches, and no matter how hard I searched I couldn’t find one. You should still be able to get the same effect with a collared polka dot shirt.

Here are the details of my Style Snatch:

Shirt: Oxford Boy Shirt in Polka Dot // $78 at J. Crew, Blazer: Black Crepe Collarless Blazer // $38 at Newlook, Pants: Skinny Crop Pants // $17 at Kohl’s, Shoes: Patent Pointy Toe Pump // $29 at Charlotte Russe, Brooches: Salmon Pink Icelandic Poppy // $36 at Etsy and Shabby Chic Flower Clip or Brooch // $3 at Etsy.

Style Snatch Total = $201

In Retrospect: Last Week’s Instagram Outfits

Hey Afaconados!

I scored major compliments this week off of this fantastic dress I purchased from The Limited recently. I had no idea that the new line, created by Sophie Theallet, was inspired from a dress she designed previously that was worn by none other than First Lady Michelle Obama. I was blown away when I found out that Michelle and I had similar dresses!

Here’s a look at my outfits from last week:

Tuesday Color Crush: Blush

Posted on February 5, 2013 by Johnnalynn Lynch in Color Crush, Fashion Tips, Home, Look of the Day, Shopping, Trends No Comments

Hey Afaconados!

I’m color crushing on Blush Pink today. What I love most about this color is that it allows us “Girly” girls to get our Pink on without being overt because it’s such a suttle, pastel version of the normal pink. This is a very popular color these days too. It was so easy finding my picks for this week!

Here they are:

Hey Afaconados!

It’s Feature Friday! And today’s feature is on She Likes, one of the most affordable UK based online boutiques I’ve ever been able to find on the internet. I recently did a Look of the Day called “Geek Chic” (found here) and the sweatshirt I used in the set I created is on this website. I bought that sweatshirt because I just loved it so much!

Although She Likes was founded in 2011, its founders have  over 10 years worth of experience in the Fashion industry, and their goal is to be one of the leading online retailers in the UK. With offerings that can take you from “catwalk to casual”, She Likes is guaranteed to have something chic for all you Fashionistas out there!

Tuesday Color Crush: Royal Blue

Posted on December 11, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in Color Crush, Fashion Tips, Home, Look of the Day, Shopping, Trends No Comments

Hey Afaconados!

Today's Color Crush focuses on Royal Blue. Described as a deep to dark blue color with a purple or faint reddish tinge, Royal Blue has to be one of the richest colors in the color palette. It's no coincidence that this color has the word "Royal" in front of it either. According to Wikipedia, Royal Blue is said to have been invented by millers in Rode, Somerset, an organization who won a competition to make a dress for the British queen, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Now that's rich!

Here are my picks for this week:

Maxine Evening Gown – $448 at BCBG

Iris & Ink Fine Knit Cashmere Sweater – $168 at The Outnet

Ark & Co Pop Blazer – $38 at Piperlime

Micro-Poly High Waist Pleated Pant – $78 at American Apparel

Liverpool Jeans Company Sadie Straight Leg Jeans – $79 at Dillard’s

Rachel Zoe Royal Blue Wool-Blend Fay Pea Coat – $469 at StyleBop

Until next time!

Monday Vintage Obsession: Corduroy

Posted on December 10, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in Fashion Tips, Home, Look of the Day, Monday Vintage Obsession, Shopping, Trends No Comments

Hey Afaconados!

Today's Vintage Obsession is all about Corduroy. Corduroy is a textile composed of twisted fibers that, when woven, lie parallel (similar to twill) to one another to form the cloth's distinct pattern, a "cord" (Courtesy of Wikipedia). It's exceptionally durable and unbelievably warm, perfect for Fall and Winter. Not only that, but Corduroy consistently makes a comeback just about every year….it's the cloth that never really goes out of style!

As always, I've done some due diligence in finding some great vintage selections for you…courtesy of one of my favorite sites, Etsy.com.

Here they are:

Women’s Corduroy Blazer – $42

1970s Andre Courreges Mid-Length Corduroy Skirt – $120

1970s Stylish Long Light Brown Corduroy Trench – $55

Vintage 50s Green Casual Coruroy Dress – $40

Vintage Gold Corduroy Blazer – $72

Vintage Denim Blue Button Down Corduroy Shirt – $22

In Retrospect: Last Week’s Instagram Outfits

Posted on December 5, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in Fashion Tips, Home, Look of the Day, Shopping, Trends No Comments

Hey Afaconados!

For those of you that don't know, I try to stay active on all social media channels, especially Instagram. Since it's not always easy for me to do daily outfit posts, I try to take a shot or two of what I'm wearing to work throughout the week. As I've stated on previous articles, I'm lucky to work in an office that allows me to dress casually. I love this because it allows me to express my true style by not just limiting me to professional attire.

I'm not sure I'll make this an every week thing, but at least for this week, I wanted to post some pictures of my outfits from last week.

Here they are:

Monday: Shirt purchased at Primark in London, Infinity Scarf (old) from Express, Old Navy Skinny Jeans, Cardigan from Ruche and shoes from Fiorentini + Baker

Tuesday: Thrifted Blazer, Short Sleeved Turtle Neck from The Limited (old), Forever 21 Skinny Jeans (old) and Born Tall Boots (old)

Wednesday: Thrifted Striped Sweater, Old Navy Scrarf (old), Colored Jeans purchased at TJ Maxx , Jessica Simpson Ankle Boots (old) and Cross Body Bag purchased from eBay

Thursday: Thrifted Shirt and Sweater, Forever 21 Skinny Jeans and Fiorentini + Baker Boots

Friday: Asos Sweater, Drome Leather Leggings and Ash Bowie Wedge Sneakers

There you have it! My week in outfits!
