Back to School: I Went Shopping!!

Posted on August 13, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh, Fashion Tips, Shopping, Trends No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

Ugh! My summer has officially come to a close. Today was my first official day back to school and I feel the urge to learn and do homework all the time!

…..OK! That’s just not the truth and I apologize for lying. :-)

I love school, but something I love even more is SHOPPING, and what better reason to shop than because I’m going back to school. SO these are some of the pictures that came out of me playing dress up in my new school clothes!

So in this picture, I wanted to expose the “awesome-ness” of skirts with pockets. Yes I see the little plastic hanger strap coming from my sweater, but that doesn’t matter. This outfit is very cute yet relaxed. The fact that the sweater has holes and short sleeves allows you to wear this in the fall, as well as the winter.

I love love love this outfit! The shirt is almost like the purple one I had on in the first picture. Because the shirt isn’t fitted it allows me to be comfortable. I paired it with my red skinny jeans, because colors are in, and a multi-colored pinkish red scarf. I also added in my awesome brown cross body bag!

Ahhh..the simplicity of life. This outfit was great for me because it’s something I can basically just throw on and go. Because the sleeves of the shirt have almost a checkerboard holes design, it kind of dresses itself up. The white skinny jeans make the outfit look very cool!

In this picture, I have on a bold floral print skirt! The skirt has black buttons that go down the front, but sadly you can’t see that from this angle. The shirt is a simple tee that I got from a thrift store. It has some abstract shapes on it in different colors.

The shirt in this picture makes me so happy! I love the print! When my mom first saw this shirt she begged me not to buy it, but I insisted on having it. I paired it with lime green skinny jeans and my big gold earrings and nerd glasses, for the “old school” affect.

This is a brown bag that I got while just running through different stores looking for anything else I could possibly pick up. This bag is great because it allows you to change the cross body strap into book bag straps without having to do much. It doubles as a purse and a place to keep my notebooks.

In the end, I didn’t end up taking pictures of everything I got, just the things I played dress up in. I’m excited to see what else I put together during the school year, and I can’t wait to share it.

Until we meet again,

Ciao!

Red Hair!!!

Posted on August 8, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

I am sooo excited right now! One reason is because I am working on getting my YouTube Channel together, and I will be posting videos as soon as I get all of the kinks worked out with my computer, BUT the real fuel for my EXTREME excitement is ….MY RED HAIR!!

It’s official, I am a red head and I love it! In the beginning, I was kind of nervous because it’s so different from my natural color, but after seeing it and seeing everyone’s reactions to the way it looked, I got a little more comfortable and I’m glad that I did it.

So What Does This Mean?

Well, it just means that in my YouTube videos I’ll have red hair. I’m not too thrilled about introducing myself “in a different light” than how I was when I first started blogging, but at the same time, I feel as though this is a fresh start and a new journey. It will be interesting. I’m so excited to join the COLORFUL HAIR family. LOL! I will be sure to keep you guys updated on my hair upkeep as well as products that I am using.

I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU ALL TO SEE IT!

Until next time,

YouTube Videos Soon To Come!

What’s Up Future Flippers!

THE TIME HAS COME!  My YouTube channel is finally created and I am going to start posting videos as soon as possible. I feel like I am writing these posts, but you guys don’t really know who I am. I mean…you don’t even know what I sound like, AND I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT!  So next week, which is the last week before I go back to school, I will post my first ever video on YouTube. I will also post it on this Blog, my Twitter, and probably my Tumblr.

With junior year and AP classes being only a week away, I won’t be able to post written blogs as often, and I was thinking that instead of cutting down to like…two posts a week, not like I’m posting more than that now…but whatever, I decided that it will be easier for me to just make videos and then maybe I can post more often because it will be quicker. I will STILL be doing written posts, considering I love picking out pictures to go with what I’ve written, but they probably won’t be as long or as “frequent”.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you readers and fellow bloggers to subscribe to my channel once it is up and running.

IT’S TIME TO GET EXCITED FOR NEW BEGINNINGS!

Style Crush On: Kelly Osbourne

Posted on August 2, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

I have decided that Thursday will be the official day for StyleCrush posts. So to kick off the first Thursday for StyleCrushes I would like to talk about my biggest style crush of all time…KELLY OSBOURNE! I don’t think any of you are wondering why she is my favorite, but just in case you’re a complete fashion outsider and have no idea why Kelly is so amazing, check out these pictures and you’ll see why:

I remember the first time I really realized that I was in love with Kelly Osbourne’s style. It was like 12pm and I was flipping through channels uncontrollably as usual when I stumbled across the very funny and strange Chelsea Handler. While watching Chelsea Lately I heard the announcer say that Kelly Osbourne would be on the show. Now I didn’t give it a second thought in the beginning considering I never paid attention to her at all. I knew of the Osbourne family as well as Kelly herself, but I never saw her as a person with style…UNTIL SHE WALKED ON STAGE!

OMG! I remember what she was wearing. She had on a cute grayish skirt with a striped black and gray top. Some simple pumps and a huge black bag complimented the outfit almost as much as the adorable black dog she carried in her hand, BUT that’s not what made me love her! It was the huge pale pink plastic bow she wore on the side of her head that made me lose it! I love bows, and this one was so original that I was slightly jealous that I did not have one.

Fast forward! Now I watch Kelly on Fashion Police all the time. I love to see what she will wear next and she gives me inspiration to try different styles and that’s why she is this week’s StyleCrush!

P.S.  Check out her pastel purple hair…I told you it was in

Trend Alert: Boyfriend Jeans

Posted on August 1, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh, Shopping, Trends No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

Based on the title I bet you’re thinking…”Boyfriend jeans have been in style for a little while, so this isn’t anything new”. Well I know that, but they are still in style and I feel the need to talk about them. This trend is really interesting to me because for the longest time it was all about the awesome skinny jeans or fitted jeans for women, and then one day I woke up and saw all these girls wearing jeans that looked like they were 2 sizes too big. This made me question a lot of things, especially why I liked them so much. Then it hit me! The reason I thought this look was so cool was because even though the jeans appeared to be grungy and sluggish, the way everyone was dressing them was very feminine and cute.

CONFUSING AND WONDERFUL ALL AT THE SAME TIME! It’s hard not to love this look, and if you don’t love it…..you’re crazy. They are SO versatile! Look at all the different ways you can wear them:

You can wear them with heels:You can wear them with sneakers:

You can dress them up:

 You can dress them down:

You can even wear them with sandals:

So if one way of wearing boyfriend jeans isn’t your style, another way might be. They’re great and I suggest that everyone get out there and get themselves a pair before they’re out of style.

ENJOY YO’ BAGGY PANTS!

Hair Trends: Taste the Rainbow

Posted on July 28, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

It is a new day and age, and that means that all types of crazy styles are coming in, one of them being colorful hair. Now I don’t know how many of you guys actually read my Ombre Hair article, but basically I stated that the great thing about having an ombre hair color is that you can keep color tones that suit your skin, closer to your face, and you can fade them to crazier colors that may not look good directly on top of your skin, but as always, there are some DAREDEVILS  amongst us who are going all out on the crazy hair colors and I have to say that…..I LOVE IT!

Forget about the typical crazy colors like red, blue, and pink. People are taking it to completely different levels. I’ve almost seen it all. I have seen orange, purple, green, silver, and I can’t lie….even pastels. It’s like the rainbow has attacked fashion. We are not just color blocking our clothes but we are color blocking the world.

Check it out:

Personally, I feel like the crazy colors are almost liberating in a sense. It is true self-expression, especially when you wear it right. It’s about making a statement and it’s about being fearless, which I feel is a big part of fashion itself. I think that if you are brave enough to take it to that level then you should. With all of the DIY hair color kits, and dip dying, there is nothing holding you back but yourself. Our generation is a bold one and there is nothing more exciting than being a part of the awesomeness. LOL!

Have FUN you guys, and be Creative!

Hair Tips: Sock It To ‘Em!

Posted on July 25, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

If you’re like me, you know….on the natural hair journey and what not, then you are working hard every day to keep your hair in the best condition…which if you’re like me, means that it’s not often that your hair comes in contact with heat. Not saying that this doesn’t work for people who have naturally straight hair, or permed hair, but I figure you guys are more open to using heat on your hair than someone who is natural.

With that said, I decided that I wanted to curl my hair without any heat what-so-ever. Now you may be saying to yourself, “That’s impossible, your hair will have to come in contact with heat at some point,” but I have news for you non-believers….YOU’RE WRONG!

Sock Curls are the way to do it. What is a sock curl you might ask? Well, a sock curl is simply a curl that was created with the help of, well…a sock! It’s quite simple. All you have to do is apply some moose or styling spray to your clean, DAMP, not wet, not 30% dry, but DAMP hair. Afterward, you simply split your hair into sections, almost as if you were going to set it on rollers, comb it out, and wrap it around the sock like you would with a roller. To hold it, you simply tie the sock in a knot.

Now I shall not tell a lie, you will for sure get better results if your hair is already straight, because then it will look like REAL professional curls, but me being the lazy bum that I am, I refused to straighten and or blow-dry my hair. So I simply washed my hair, let it dry, applied a mixture of leave-in-conditioner and water (in a spray bottle) to each individual section of my hair, wrapped it in the socks, let it dry fully overnight, and my curls were AWESOME!

In conclusion I would like to note that there are great HOW-TO videos on YouTube if this wasn’t detailed enough for you. I recommend giving it a shot. The results are great, and it saves you one less trip through the frying pan!

I LUV YOU GUYS!

Posted on July 21, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

As you can clearly see by simply scrolling down, my last post was a Style Crush post. I know you may be thinking….”Why is she doing two of the same posts back to back?” But I would like to inform you that this has a purpose. :-) OK! YOU GOT ME! This serves no purpose at all, but I said that I was going to do a series of Style Crush posts and I don’t see the need to procrastinate on adding to the chain immediately. So without further ado, I would like to announce that I am cheating on my past Style Crush with…and no I don’t need a drumroll this time…

AndreasChoice

The reason I chose AndreasChoice (Youtube name) for this post is because #1: I think she AWESOME, and #2: I can technically choose whoever I want because it’s my blog:-)  Anyhoo, this girl has MAD style. On her Youtube channel, she talks about everything from hairstyles to DIY multi-colored shorts. She has a sense of humor and a sense of style and there is honestly no better combination than that. It makes her very entertaining to watch as well as super informative. Her channel also steps out of fashion and talks about health and beauty. She gives you lots of great tips for skin care as well as makeup tips for different occasions. I really enjoy watching her and I think that anybody reading this blog would enjoy watching her too. Please check out her YouTube channel and let the inspiration begin.

Style Crush On: BeautyCrush

Posted on July 17, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

So of course my main purpose in writing these blogs is to inform you about things that you guys may have questions about such as beauty or style tips. Sometimes though, I have questions too, and I can’t pick through my blog searching for an answer because well…I write it. When this happens, I turn to the Youtube search box for answers. Every now and then I come across a Youtube beauty vlogger who really catches my attention. So for my first Style Crush post in the series of Style Crush posts to come I would like to announce that I have a Style Crush on ………HELLO DRUMROLL PLEASE!……..

                                                                        BEAUTYCRUSH

http://www.beautycrush.co.uk

Why am I crushing you may ask? Well, I think that the tips that I get from Samantha Maria’s (or Sammi) channel are great! She is a UK fashionista who has amazing style and beauty tips for the beauty challenged, or not so challenged, but whatever. She’s very entertaining and you can tell that she’s really into what she talks about. Sammi is great about telling you what products she uses as well as gives you hairstyle tips and advice on how to style clothes or certain items in particular. Moral of the story is, this girl has a great eye for fashion and beauty and whatever I can’t deliver on here, you can get from her channel.

Façon On A Budget

Posted on July 13, 2012 by Johnnalynn Lynch in FaçonFlip by Ashleigh No Comments

What’s Up Future Flippers!

Shopping is a huge part of my life and I know that it is a huge part of other fashion lovers’ lives as well. But something I don’t want to be a huge part of my life is spending a lot of money every time I go shopping. Yes, I know how hard it is when you see the perfect shirt and you MUST own it! And Yes, I know the tingly feeling you get when you see the perfect pair of shoes. But you don’t have to spend crazy amounts of money every single time you go shopping. Remember, cute things come at low prices too. No, I’m not telling you to buy a cheap shirt that you can tear in half with your bare hands. That’s not cute. What I’m saying is, there is a place where clothes come at SUPER low prices, and still have really good/great quality.

Were is this magical Wonderland you might ask?

THE THRIFT STORE!!! The magical land where you can get a bomb (really cute) shirt for the price of a bubble gum wrapper! (not literally)

Thrift stores have really stylish clothes in case you didn’t know. Yeah…you may have to pick the racks a little bit, and you just might have to alter a few things, but if you have style you can do anything! I BELIEVE IN YOU! To make thrift store shopping work for you, you have to be able to see the good in everything. Don’t be boring and basic and go for the obviously cute things. Get creative and show off what a fashion guru you are. Pick up the unconventional items, and make them work! You will get your money’s worth and you will also have a great wardrobe!

Have fun with it guys!
